Job Title: Assistant Manager – Product Development – Spices

Role Overview: ITC Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager for Product Development in the Spices division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for new product and process development, quality enhancement, and improvement. This role involves developing and updating quality control procedures for manufacturing, sensory and flavor profiling, shelf life evaluation, consumer research, supplier development, and plant layout and scale-up. The Assistant Manager will be crucial in maintaining and improving the quality of spice products while ensuring they meet regulatory standards.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Research and Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD), with a preference for experience in Spices, Flavor, or Seasoning development.
Job-related Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of various unit operations involved in food processing.
- Core expertise in food development for Spices.
- Proficiency in Analytical Chemistry with hands-on experience operating analytical systems.
- Clear understanding of basic food ingredients and their functionalities.
- Thorough knowledge of food regulations such as the Prevention of Food Adulteration rules/act (PFA), FSSA, BIS, and Codex standards.
- Strong project management and planning skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality systems.
- Strong commercial acumen.
Management/Personal Skills:
- Excellent man-management and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and empowerment.
- Self-motivated and adaptable.
- Strong analytical ability and lateral thinking style.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Focus on being well-organized, creative, and open-minded.
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Food Science, Food Processing, Food Engineering, or a related field.
