Job Overview:

As a Senior Scientist I for Innovation, Technology, and Quality (ITQ) at our Mumbai-R&D Lab in India, you will play a vital role in advancing technical strategies and initiatives to support the growth of existing products and the development of new products, primarily within the bakeries business, with a strong focus on the NDWT (Non-Dairy Whipped Toppings) portfolio. Your role involves driving innovation strategy, developing pipelines, executing product launches, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet consumer and operator needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead renovation and innovation projects to drive business growth within the allocated product portfolio.
  • Design, develop, and commercialize products that meet consumer, business, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Develop and execute robust technical plans to manage and mitigate technical risks.
  • Collaborate effectively with operations to take projects from concept to commercialization.
  • Drive the development and qualification of High Margin Margin (HMM) ideas.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety principles throughout product development.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, technical partners, and external partners to bring innovative solutions and technologies to General Mills.
  • Provide technical leadership for product launches, margin management projects, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Network, collaborate, and influence various functions within General Mills.
  • Champion the protection and creation of Intellectual Property (IP) and facilitate knowledge sharing within ITQ.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Degree Requirements: Masters in Food & Allied Science or Technology.
  • Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters.
  • Minimum years of related experience required: 5 years in R&D of Non-Dairy Whipped Toppings.
  • Preferred years of related experience: 6-8 years.
