Main Purpose: As a Packaging Technology Specialist, you will play a vital role in analyzing new packaging materials and developing specifications in our SAP & OS3 systems. Your work will support Site QC, Artwork management, Procurement, and ensure compliance with local regulations and global packaging standards.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute packaging specifications to manufacturing and toll sites.
- Approve, maintain, and distribute shade cards for decorated packaging materials.
- Create inspection plans in the PBC system.
- Analyze new packaging materials from existing and new suppliers.
- Prepare analytical test reports for packaging materials.
- Analyze market samples for genuineness.
- Develop Packaging Material Specification (PMS) and Packaging Specification (PGS) in OS3 & PBC system.
- Coordinate with IIP and other functional bodies for TWT testing.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by providing support to various teams and addressing complaints.
- Troubleshoot packing material quality issues and packaging line deviations in manufacturing plants.
Key Working Relations: You will collaborate with BCS Procurement & supply chain teams, Site Packaging QA (Owned & Toll Sites), Head – Packaging, HSE, Indian Institute of Packaging for Trials, and vendors.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- BSc (Chemistry) / M.Sc. or 2 years full-time Postgraduate diploma in Packaging technology from IIP or equivalent institute (SIES).
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of packaging technology.
- Familiarity with local regulations (e.g., Insecticide Act) and global packaging norms.
- Sound analytical skills in rigid and flexible packaging.
- Knowledge of BIS standards & NABL.
- General management skills.
