Job Description:
Overview: As an Online QC Executive at our Kosi location in India, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of our products and minimizing customer complaints through stringent online quality control checks and finished product inspections. You will be responsible for implementing the right quality control systems and standards for our processes, physical systems, and environment. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting during online production to minimize wastage and maintain product quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with GMP, GHK GLP, and internal/external audits (HACCP, AIB, Personal Hygiene, Process audit) and conducting root cause and failure analysis for quality defects.
Responsibilities:
- Potato Quality Control:
- Ensure that the quality of potatoes issued for production meets standard specifications.
- Conduct COOK Tests on potato samples to assess factors such as undesirable color, internal defects, greening percentage, etc.
- Provide status reports to the Agro Department and determine the number of pickers required for specific potato lots.
- Make decisions on whether to accept or reject potato lots.
- Conduct regular Cook’s Tests for potatoes stored in warehouses under long-term storage.
- Online Quality Checks:
- Perform online quality checks in the production process area to ensure compliance with FLI quality standards.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure operating parameters of machines are within specified ranges.
- Monitor peelers, fryers, slicers, chip conveyors, and seasoning tumblers.
- Check slice thickness and free surface moisture regularly.
- Make decisions regarding the introduction of anti-foaming agents in the process.
- Record dwell times and seasoning levels.
- Conduct analytical tests, including Hunter Color Test and fryer oil checks.
- Analytical Tests and Corrective Actions:
- Determine the need for blanching based on test results.
- Monitor fryer oil quality and usage.
- Check fried chips for various parameters.
- Measure bulk density, moisture, seasoning, and dimensions for Non-PC products.
- Take corrective actions to address issues identified through tests.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Provide feedback to operators on corrective actions.
- Communicate picker requirements to shift in-charge based on online checks.
- Request changes in potato lots from the agro department when necessary.
- Communicate concerns and corrective actions to the shift in-charge and production manager.
- Notify the Quality Manager in critical situations for appropriate decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology (Tech Food).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in the food industry.
- Knowledge of food safety systems and ISO systems.
- Familiarity with HACCP/AIB and TPM is preferred.
