Job Description:
- Job Purpose: As a Senior Scientist in External Manufacturing Quality Assurance (EMQA), you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with quality standards for externally manufactured products in the Mars Wrigley Global Emerging Markets (GEM) region.
- Your responsibilities include designing a risk-based approach for new co-manufacturers, owning sourcing standards for EMQA, and embedding Mars principles and culture.
- You’ll partner with commercial and supply teams to enhance the performance of external manufacturers and ensure adherence to Mars quality and food safety requirements.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a risk-based approach for new co-manufacturers.
- Serve as the standard owner for sourcing standards in the GEM region, with a focus on EMQA.
- Partner with commercial and supply teams to drive performance and continuous improvement among external manufacturers.
- Lead the COP for GEM to build a technical community of expertise.
- Develop strategic methods for collaboration and coordination with co-manufacturers.
Education & Professional Qualifications:
- Academic education in food science/technology, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- FMCG experience in various aspects of the food or pet industry.
Knowledge / Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality or Food Safety role in the food industry or related industries.
- Strong relationship-building, commercial awareness, and supplier management skills.
- Strategic thinking, planning, project management, and organizing experience.
- Passion for Mars’ first principle: Quality.
Key Skills:
- HACCP, ISO, and quality & food safety management systems.
- Basic knowledge of microbiological and chemical hazards.
- PRIMP or incident management.
- Risk assessment & management.
- Technological knowledge of food processing equipment and engineering.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methods.
- Quick learner.
